When most people picture Arizona in July, they imagine endless desert, towering saguaros, and triple-digit temperatures.


But just a few hours north, Arizona tells an entirely different story.


Hidden among the mountains near Flagstaff, Aspen Corner is a quiet grove where tall aspens shimmer in the summer breeze, wild grasses sway beneath their branches, and cool mountain air replaces the desert heat. It's one of those places that feels almost unexpected—a reminder that Arizona holds far more diversity than most people imagine.


This portrait session was created just a few days ago, surrounded by the vibrant greens of midsummer. Soft mountain light filtered through the leaves as we wandered the forest, allowing the landscape to become part of the story. Rather than competing with nature, the portraits invite us to slow down and notice it.


One of the reasons I love photographing throughout Arizona is because every landscape offers its own kind of wonder. While the Sonoran Desert has its quiet beauty, the forests surrounding Flagstaff provide something completely different—peaceful mountain scenery that feels timeless and untouched.
