Childhood is meant to be full of water droplets, mud, sunlight and surprises.


When the wild horses arrived and the sun peeked through the clouds, the Salt River reminded us that some of Arizona's most beautiful portrait locations aren't carefully manicured—they're wonderfully wild.


As a Scottsdale fine art portrait photographer, I'm always searching for places that invite children to explore, imagine, and simply be themselves. The Salt River has become one of my favorite locations for storytelling portrait sessions because every visit feels different. The horses, the water, the changing light... they become part of the story.
